Bourse Helleiner à l’Institut Nord-Sud du Canada : Demande de candidatures pour la bourse de 2009
L’Institut Nord-Sud a le plaisir de lancer par la présente un appel de propositions pour son poste annuel de chercheur(e) invité(e). Cette bourse a pour nom celui du professeur émérite G.K. Helleiner, l’un des plus grands universitaires du Canada, spécialiste des questions touchant le développement international, qui a consacré un grand nombre d’années à travailler en Afrique et dans d’autres pays en développement, et qui est aussi l’un des membres fondateurs et l’ancien président de l’Institut Nord-Sud.
Le programme de bourse Helleiner, financé avec l’aide du Centre de recherches pour le développement international (CRDI) du Canada, a pour objectif est de donner à des chercheurs en politique en milieu de carrière (qui comptent de cinq à 10 années d’expérience), qu’ils travaillent actuellement dans une université, un institut de recherche en politique ou un organisme de remue-méninges, ou encore dans tout autre établissement pertinent, la possibilité d’entreprendre des recherches stratégiques dans un secteur dont les objectifs et les intérêts sont conformes à ceux de l’Institut Nord-Sud. Le poste de cette année s’adresse à des chercheurs stratégiques africains intéressés à passer de neuf à douze mois à l’Institut, dont le siège est situé à Ottawa, capitale du Canada.
Le projet de recherche stratégique devrait porter sur l’un des trois grands domaines suivants :
- Finance internationale, dette et efficacité de la coopération au développement,
- Commerce et migration, et
- Gouvernance, société civile et la prévention des conflits.
La recherche abordant les questions de l’égalité entre les sexes ou du développement durable (y compris le changement climatique) dans l’un quelconque des trois domaines ci-dessus, est également encouragée.

The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), in partnership with the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the Ford Foundation are pleased to announce a new fellowship to support doctoral students at African universities. The African Doctoral Dissertation Research Fellowship (ADDRF) seeks to facilitate more rigorous engagement of doctoral students in research, strengthen their research skills, and provide the fellows an opportunity for timely completion of their doctoral training. The fellowship targets doctoral students with strong commitment to a career in training and/or research. 2007-2009 Africa Higher Education Collaborative:
Improving Resources for Access & Success in Africa The Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES), a division of the Institute of International Education (IIE) and IIE’s Middle East North Africa (MENA) Region Office in Cairo are pleased to announce the Africa Higher Education Collaborative (AHEC) sponsored by the Ford Foundation. Through its unique collaborative and interactive design, this new initiative aims to contribute to the development of higher education within the countries of Egypt , Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa over a two-year period. The program expects to engage a new generation of higher education specialists in Africa by creating networks for information sharing and research while enhancing the regional and global perspectives of its participants.
